Senior Presentation Night report - Julie CameronReport on Senior Presentation Night
Senior Presentation Night was held on Saturday, and whilst the numbers were down a little, those in attendance witnessed the awarding of trophies to our top players. The night also honoured those among us who have performed outstandingly and to whom our top awards were presented.
This year’s top awards were presented thus:
Presidents Award
Awarded to Stuart Mill for his devotion to the sport that he is no longer able to play, which may seem odd, but he is so very young.
Kim Ras Memorial
This award is presented to the club member who has contributed to the club in an outstanding manner for Juniors. This year this award was presented to two members – Glenda Bawden and Kaz Williams, both worthy recipients.
Bev Mclean Memorial
This award is presented to the female member who has contributed to the club in an outstanding manner. Again this award was presented to Glenda Bawden. Glenda has been a very active member, supporting the juniors, seniors and the womens teams as well as being on hand to take up the slack whenever it is required.
Ken Manley Memorial
The Ken Manley award is presented to the male member who has contributed to the club in an outstanding manner. Greg Curry was this year’s recipient. Greg stepped up and played wherever he was needed, and showed true leadership.
AW Oliver
Our AW Oliver award is presented to the club member who has contributed to the club both in playing and off field work – in other words, our most outstanding member. The recipient this year was also our Ken Manley award winner – Greg Curry. This award recognises, both the effort Greg put in on field, and that of his off field work. Greg displayed a commitment to not only his team, but all the teams, ensuring that the Panthers were able to take the field each and every week.
Our top team awards are detailed in the following attachment – well done to each of you.
